    I am at it again.

For those of you who know me you know how much I love a list or two or three or… Well, I love to make lists. I have lists of groceries, chores, to do, to make, places to go, music I’m interested in, books I want to read and on and on. Awhile ago a friend introduced me to an alternative to New Year’s Resolutions. She suggested that one year might not an appropriate way to set goals. I’d never thought about it really. But let’s say you have a new years resolution to plant new flowers in the front yard. During a year you really only have a particular window of opportunity to accomplish that (early spring). If something comes up and you miss it, well so much for that goal. But what if you had 1001 days? That’s approximately two and three quarters of a year. Hmmm.. that’s 2 maybe 3 springs to accomplish that goal. And what if your goal was a little bigger, like lose 50 lbs. Maybe you need a bit longer to accomplish it. The idea of 1001 days was growing on me and so I tried it. I created my first list in 2008. It concluded in June 2011. I did o.k. I didn’t finish everything but I learned a lot. I learned that some of my goals sound good but really weren’t that important to me and I learned some things that are important need some motivation to tackle. So I’ve created my second list and I am posting it here to hold myself accountable and I promise to blog about some of these goals here too!
